Fruit bagging training programme

Bagging is a physical protection method which not only improves the visual quality of fruit by promoting skin colouration and reducing blemishes, but can also change the micro-environment for fruit development, which can have several beneficial effects on internal fruit quality. Pre-harvest bagging of fruit can also reduce the incidence of disease, insect, pest and mechanical damage, sunburn of the skin, fruit cracking, agrochemical residues on the fruit, and bird damage.

In this regard, a training programme regarding fruit bagging was held at Hottal on 19th July, 2022 by SSM’S KVK Sagroli.

During this training Dr. Priyanka Khole elaborated the farmers and farm labours the need and importance of fruit bagging, proper methods of bagging, machines and equipment used in bagging process etc in detail.

Fruits and vegetables like guava, mango, papaya, pomegranate, pumpkin and bitter gourd can be bagged.
